“New forms” is a research on the concept of becoming of the body shape.
By “becoming of the body shape” I mean the change of the body shape through individuals who belong to different categories or who go through stages of conformation, different from those crossed by the majority. In this case I worked on the osteological structure of vertebrates and human congenital malformations.
The osteological structure of vertebrates is very interesting because it has notable affinities between animals of different species.
This research is similar to “Holy Cancer” where I worked on the forms of cancer that modified the internal organs of the body.
As with “Holy Cancer”, the aim of the research is to experience an empathic connection with the processes involved in the becoming of the body shape.
Having reached this aim, I try to arrive at the creation of images of a different nature from those we experience on a daily basis, essentially different images.
I was able to study animal bones thanks to the availability of the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Pathological Anatomy of the University of Florence.
