The Artistic Research Circles are artistic sessions that bring together people interested in art and ecology to generate knowledge exchange and insights. The participants have the opportunity to be involved in a creative process through an open dialogue session and some activities.
What will happen?
The format is flexible enough to evolve depending on the participant dynamics.
Generally, there are four stages, and the whole event is designed as an extension of the practice of the artist Vincenzo Fiore Marrese.
First, the artist will introduce his research and some artwork as examples.
Second, the attention of the Circle will be focused on a specific question, such as: "How can we interact with the actions of animals in a creative way without appropriating them?"
Third, the Circle will start a dialogue around this question. We can also read an excerpt from books or papers of interest.
Fourth, the Circle will experiment with some light activities. The aim is to improve the collective reflection by crafting some small objects. You could find natural and biodegradable materials like stones or coco coir pellets.
Everyone is welcome to join the circles, curious people or experts. In any case, anyone participates voluntarily and on the same horizontal level, not to perform professionally.
The theme is about coincidence, art and living beings within the frame of Marrese's research, Coincidental Creature.
Coincidental Creature is related to global issues of the present time. Art and ecology, human and non-human relationships, and ethics.

In the Circles, participants share ideas voluntarily and freely, influencing each other's thoughts, works and research. As is normal in an open dialogue session, the resulting works or research remain the authorship of any single participant. Participants may credit the Circle for the inspiration.
Duration: 2 hours.
About the Artist
Vincenzo Fiore Marrese is a research-based artist. He is interested in the instability of systems of rules. His recent works are about the relationship between art and ecosystems. Marrese gained a master's degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, and his work was exhibited in Europe, Asia and South America. Learn more through his website www.vfmarrese.com.

Die Artistic Research Circles sind künstlerische Sitzungen, die Menschen zusammenbringen, die sich für Kunst und Ökologie interessieren. Ziel ist der Austausch von Wissen und Ideen. Die Teilnehmer*innen können sich in einem kreativen Prozess einbringen, durch offene Dialoge und kleine Aktivitäten.
Was wird passieren?
Das Format kann sich flexibel an die Dynamik der Teilnehmer*innen anpassen.
In der Regel gibt es vier Phasen, und die Veranstaltung ist als Erweiterung der Praxis des Künstlers Vincenzo Fiore Marrese gestaltet.
Erstens: Der Künstler stellt seine Forschung und einige Werke als Beispiele vor.
Zweitens: Die Aufmerksamkeit des Kreises richtet sich auf eine konkrete Frage, z. B.: „Wie können wir kreativ mit den Handlungen von Tieren interagieren, ohne sie zu vereinnahmen?“
Drittens: Der Kreis diskutiert diese Frage. Es können auch Auszüge aus Büchern oder Fachartikeln gelesen werden.
Viertens: Der Kreis probiert einige leichte Aktivitäten aus. Ziel ist es, die kollektive Reflexion zu fördern, indem kleine Objekte gestaltet werden. Dazu können natürliche und biologisch abbaubare Materialien wie Steine oder Kokos-Quelltabletten verwendet werden.
Alle Interessierten sind willkommen, egal ob neugierig oder Expert*innen. Jede*r nimmt freiwillig und auf gleicher Ebene teil, ohne professionell zu performen.
Das Thema bezieht sich auf Zufall, Kunst und Lebewesen im Rahmen von Marreses Forschung „Coincidental Creature“.
Diese Forschung behandelt aktuelle globale Themen wie Kunst und Ökologie, Beziehungen zwischen Menschen und Nicht-Menschen und Ethik.

In den Circles teilen die Teilnehmer*innen freiwillig ihre Ideen und beeinflussen gegenseitig Gedanken, Arbeiten und Forschungen. Wie üblich in offenen Dialogen bleibt das Urheberrecht der einzelnen Teilnehmer*innen erhalten. Teilnehmer*innen können den Circle als Inspiration nennen.
Dauer: 2 Stunden.
Über den Künstler
Vincenzo Fiore Marrese ist ein forschungsbasierter Künstler. Er interessiert sich für die Instabilität von Regelwerken. Seine aktuellen Arbeiten beschäftigen sich mit der Beziehung zwischen Kunst und Ökosystemen. Marrese hat einen Master an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Florenz erworben, und seine Werke wurden in Europa, Asien und Südamerika ausgestellt.
